File Management
Vanilla comes with two file management options as standard. Both options are only available to users with roles of editor or above.
The File Manager
The file manager is a multi-purpose feature that allows you to upload, browse, search, edit, rename and delete any type of file.

The file manager can be launched from any administration page via the shortcut menu. It is the method used when inserting images, media and Flash within your pages. To launch the file manager when editing a page, you simply click on the relevant toolbar button (insert link, image, flash etc.).
Media Previewing
You can preview images, MP3 and Flash video files within the file browser.
AJAX Features
The file manager employs a full AJAX backend so you never need to wait for pages to refresh or reload. Furthermore, if the file you select is text or image-based, you can edit it right there in your browser. Images can be resized, cropped, flipped and rotated. Editable text-based files include CSS, HTML and JavaScript. This list can be extended by modifying or 'hacking' the source code.
The Upload Manager
The second file management feature is the Upload Manager - a simple interface that allows you to upload multiple files to a folder of your choice. This interface is Flash-based.
