We're constantly striving to make Vanilla a better product - but without adding bloat. With that in mind, here's a list of improvements that we may implement in the next release.

  1. Option to sort gallery items via drag 'n' drop - done
  2. Auto-detect system paths - done
  3. Reshuffle for optimum MVC structure - partly done :/
  4. Auto-installation, uninstallation and activation of plugins
  5. Full GeoIP information within stats plugin - done
  6. IP ignore list for statistics - backend already exists, GUI needed
  7. Show, update and edit all RSS items from single point - done
  8. Optional implementation of true templating engine - done (Theme Engine)
  9. Override panel dragging on administration home page - done
  10. Function to back-up and restore .htaccess configurations - done
  11. Update News layout to order articles by date descending - done
  12. Make a page's friendly URL adopt its parent's friendly URL - done (deep friendly)
  13. Build comments system for pages
  14. Build social networking plugin (basically a series of custom icon back-links that can be placed anywhere)
  15. Integrate event calendar admin into main admin
  16. JSON-ify all AJAX transactions
  17. Granularise user privileges for greater flixibility
  18. Auto-CHMOD certain directories upon install
  19. Extend mailform to support different recipient addresses
  20. Build more themes!
  21. Implement spellchecker for FCKEditor
  22. Perhaps upgrade to CKEditor (doubtful)
